A new ending to Checkouts

I walked her to her car scared to death. I really didn’t have the right words to say to her. What should I say? She had a brand new 2010 Lexus and I knew then that she was a high class chick. She had two bumper stickers that tell everything about her. Yale University is one and the other says hip hop rocks! I then knew that she was smart and knew her music.

He walked me to my car and I was blushing so hard I thought he was going to notice. Should I ask him for his number? No, that would be too soon and a big step. His eyes are what I loved much. They shine so bright that he didn’t have to be in the sun. I can tell in the way he talked and said hello that he was very shy. Should I make the big step and say something or what?

Here I go, I am going to ask her what her name is. He took to steps toward her car and he began to speak. Before he could get his words out she popped the trunk.

“Ouch!” he screamed loudly after the trunk hit him in the face.

“Oh my, I am so sorry” she said softly touching and rubbing his head

At that moment they locked eyes and the world around them didn’t matter anymore.

“Hi my name is Janet, and yours?” she said gazing into his bright blue eyes

Afraid out of his mind he finally after a minute later he gave her the answer’

“My name is James, and it’s nice meeting you Janet” he said while putting the food in the car.

Janet couldn’t believe that he actually wanted to speak to her. She thought that he was going to run away and hide. That’s what she felt like doing. She didn’t know what to say next.

“So where are you from Janet?” he asked closing her trunk

Looking totally dumbfounded she finally found the words to say to him.

“I am from New York, but my parents moved me here last week and bad to say I don’t like it here at all” she said holding her keys in her hand.

“Well I love it here you have to go downtown and check out all the amazing sites” he said

She really didn’t know what he was going to do next but she knew it was going to make her blush. He then took a deep breath and asked her out to show her around the new city. She answered yes and he couldn’t do anything but smile. This was the moment when she felt like her dreams have come true. The new city to her wasn’t so bad after all.

He took her out that night on a date that she would never forget. A nice walk on the river and dinner at the finest restaurant in town was the perfect date in her eyes. The night was almost ending and she didn’t want to date to end. They caught a taxi cab and headed back to her place. Her parents weren’t at home so she wasn’t in a rush to get home. On the way home they talked about how the night went and so much more.

“So do you like the city now?” he said looking her right in the eyes

“I like it more every time I look at you!” she said in a big day dream

“What?” he said looking at her in a strange way?

She couldn’t believe she just said that out loud. She tried to play it off but she couldn’t think of anything. Lost for words and in big amazement she thinks of something very quick.

“ Um…I said yes ever since you took me out to see it more” she said smiling hopping it would work

Her face let him know that she wasn’t telling the truth. He looked at her and all he said was ok. She then knows that he knows that that wasn’t truth. They arrived at her house and she felt so bad. She knew that she had messed everything up. They got out of the car and he walks her to the door. She told him that she had a great time and she hope he did too. He said goodnight and walked back to the cab with a weird look on his face. She then knew that he didn’t want to see her again. Life for her has officially ended. Walking in the house she ran right to her room and called her best friend. She was talking about how the date went when her other lined buzzed in. She looked to see who named had popped up but it was a number that she never seen before.

“Hold on you guys I have another call coming in” she said about to click over

“Just call me back I am about to eat dinner anyways” her best friend said before hanging up the phone

Clicking over she said hello to the unfamiliar. She hears this strange voice and makes an unusual face.

“I don’t ever want to talk to again in my entire life!” the voice said

“What!” she said not understanding what’s going on?

She finally realize the voice, it was James. He told her that he didn’t want to talk to her anymore. So Janet was heartbroken and sad but she knew that it wasn’t the end of the world.
